So I really liked finding ten songs that are getting me through January-so I thought I’d give you ten songs that are going to probably going to help get me through February. Enjoy!
1. NF-If You Want Love
Dude, seriously, why couldn’t they say this, instead of “Forgive and Forget” or “Forgive like Jesus Forgave”, man, I’m not Jesus, and I’m trying, but I can’t forget.
“If you want love, you gon’ have change, If you want trust, you gon’ have to give some away.”
2. Unspoke-Bury the Workman
Can we just stop with the hyms for a bit (they’re great, but every single Sunday?), and sing this song? Dude, it’s incredible!
“You can bury the workman, but the work will go on, you can silence the voices, but you can’t stop this song…”
3.NF-Lost in the Moment
Something I had a goal for since I turned fifteen was to stop living in my anger, pain, and the past, and work hard, and legitamately live as if these days are my last days, even if they’re the start of a new me.
“This may be the last sunset I’ll see, so I’ll take it in, I’ll take it in, this may be the last day that I’ll breath, so I’ll breath it in, I’ll breath it in.”
4. Bizzle (Ft. Bumps)-I’ll Holla
It’s pretty much self explanitory.
“This me waving to all my haters, but this ain’t hi, this is bye, I ain’t got time to please you when I’m tryna please God.”
5. Need To Breath-Let’s Stay Home Tonight
It’s February. The fourteenth is Valentines day. You have to have one romance song you can listen too. Besides, it’s catchy, the lead singers voice is INCREDIBLE, and some of the lyrics are just…well…unintentionally inapropriate.
“Baby let’s stay home tonight, we can put a couple records on, we can build a fire alright…”
6. KJ52(Spzrk, Island of the Misfit Toys
What can I say? It’s my jam.
“This is for the cutters, goofballs, runaways, lonelies, miserable, bully kids, fealing like the old me…”
7.Need to Breath-Don’t Bring that Trouble
“Stay back or get on track cause I can’t have you ruin it.”
8. Jards of Clay-Ghost in the Moon
So initially I found a better copy of their CD, with Flood, a song I hadn’t heard since I was five. My brother developed an obession with the band after he heard it, and showed us this song (one I’ve never heard), and I’ve gotta say…it’s…mysterious…AND HIS VOICE. Oh his voice.
“It is a beautiful thing to be held, to be loved, though I lost more than one, and the roses will bloom for this Ghost in the moon.”
9. Jars of Clay-Dead Man
This is the other song my brother showed us, and after listening to it everytime he’s around *cries internally*, it’s made it into my playlist.
“So carry me, I’m just a dead man lying on the carpet can’t find a heartbeat, make me free, I want to be a new man tired of the old one.”
10. MercyMe-Wishful Thinking
Another song that would be a nice change from a Hymn.
I have problems with hymns, because you either have to be an incredible opera singer, or have one fly bass voice. It’s no in between.
“What if this ain’t wishful thinking, it’s just how it is?”
So that’s all I have for you all on this ginchy post! Let me know in the comments what songs are on your playlist, and if you’ve ever heard of these songs. Also, what are your thoughts on my hymn tangents, other than they’re random.
