So…Ipsy?

Well, (1)

So one night, I was feeling a spending spree surging through me, and after watching one of my favorite YouTubers (Alexandria Ryan), I decided, hey, what the hex, let’s give that bad boy a try.

So I did, and here’s…what came in the mail.

For starters; the bag. It was…nice? Where I work (a thrift store), we receive occasional Ipsy bags and they seem to have nice quality, but whether it be the sequence or the way her face was printed, it definitely felt like some dollar quality stuff?

WHAT CAME IN THE BAG…

Nomad Highlighter…

I mean, this stuffs nice, I still have no idea what to do with Highlighter, it seemed, to be nice, online it runs for roughly 17 dollars, which is already more than what I paid for the bag. It was a lovely color, (Kiss of Sun in Balmoral Beach). It seemed to swatch pretty well, I did use it when getting ready…not properly-but then nothing’s going to look proper because I’m cheap and I REFUSE to buy a new bottle of foundation even if I am noticeably paler (I didn’t think that was possible, I thought I reached all levels of pale after being out of the sun for two years, but my skin decided otherwise-ANYWAYS).

Ipsy’s Betty Boop Eyeliner.

I DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE THIS.

It makes a mess (not specifically this one, just all eyeliner), and I can’t get anything to go on my eyelid besides eyeshadow, but it seems cool so we’ll see.

FIRST OF ALL.

This picture flipped itself, and I can’t fix it.

SECOND OF ALL.

This “It Cosmetics CC+” was something I really liked? It mixed well enough with my skin, and honestly it smelled good? I’m used to make-up smelling, well, make-upy, but this stuff smelled like the quality fruity shampoo/hair product stuff they sell in stores. So, big win. I’d honestly use it as perfume.

SO.

I have a confession to make.

I may or may not have…lost some of this stuff after I opened the bag, and took the photos, so I didn’t get to try this particular product-HOWEVER, I was excited to have this, and a few Youtubers I watch did say this stuff was really nice.

And let’s be real, Winter and Fall is actual murder on my skin.

So anything to help this mess (Acne), is a win-win.

Except Burt’s Bees.

And Neutrogena.

Those quite working and now my face doesn’t know what to do.

On Animal Jams, I was a Panda, and then they got rid of my account after they got rid of Pandas, so now I’m not anything at all.

On Animal Jams, I mean.

But anyway, I’ve read reviews where they say this doesn’t fit an adults face, and this concerns me, because I am 90% certain that my head/face is slightly larger then most. That being said, I’m excited to try these with my mom (they sent two), because I’ve been looking for some fun face-masks for a good self-care day. And here they are, so it’s really a win-win.

Overall Thoughts:

The concepts cool. The customer service is GREAT, they’re really helpful and friendly (I was concerned about my order on something, and the response was fast and reassuring). The products, I’m not sure how they equal over 50+ dollars, though I’m still new to makeup, and I just googled the Murad and just realized where most of the money comes from, that aside (HOLY ACTUAL COW).

UPDATE: I’ve just googled the IT cream.

SIR HAVE SEVERAL SEATS.

TAKE THEM ALL.

Because with money like that you could actually buy a movie ticket.

Maybe two.

I’m retracting what I said, I see where they calculate the money.

Anyway, the concept for Ipsy? Fun, it’s like a gift to yourself (unless you regift samples, in which case-same, so, a great gift for others), not to mention it’s a little exciting to receive packages, though I have been doing a lot more of that after I’ve developed a reclusive state in which I binge watch Youtubers and eat food that’s not OKAY.

The product quality is over-all pretty excellent, again, I…did personalize the bag so that I received eyeliners and highlights, but I’m not actually sure HOW to use them, no matter how many tutorials I watch.

The bag was a slight disappointment, it felt cheap, but then, I wouldn’t expect it to be like a money wallet.

Overall, it was exciting, and if you have a little extra money to spend, the surprise is definitely worth the twelve dollars.

So; final score:

95%

I was raised to be a tough grader.

What do you want from me?

So have you tried Ipsy? What did you receive, and what are your thoughts? I’d love to hear! 20190413_235924_00008132386945157892677.png

An Introduction to a New Series

Todays post is Sponsored by FabFitFun, make sure to get your box, today!

Add a heading (5)

I HAVE ACNE.

Clearly.

I, more specifically have Cystic Acne.

I was going to write a list about the annoying things with acne-but, to be honest, I feel like it’s been done. I’m not going to sit here and tell you it’s a beautiful addition, because, for me, I don’t enjoy it. I can tell you, that something such as that should not define you as a person, and doesn’t take away from your already standing beauty and worth.

That being said, I was trying to think of a phenomenal post to take it’s place.

I thought, maybe, I could do what helped my skin, but like most things, that changed, and eventually, I found certain products to be making it worse over time.

And then I decided, maybe, just maybe, I should get a little serious about acne. So I started thinking; what would be an interesting topic?

Well, let’s start off with the basic information on acne.

-Roughly 85% of people between the ages of 12 and 25 develope acne (DermNetNZ, Medical News Today).

-Acne has varying signs and symptoms, and the reasons behind why they happen.

-Mayo Clinic lists four major reasons for acne;

*Excess oil production

*Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells

*Bacteria

*Excess activity of a type of hormone (androgens)

-Acne appears more commonly on the upper body but is not limited to your facial area.

And with all this information, I started to realize; well, if acne’s so common, then how come all of the influencers I see don’t seem to have the same problems? Their skins remarkable, and granted, it might be make-up, but when the make-ups off, and they’re putting it on, what makes it…glow? What makes their skin so…perfect? If you will?

And then I realized, that Science literally has given us a reason for Self Care, and acne isn’t the only area.

This is where I want to start a new series-the scientific importance behind self-care, and why it’s important.

I’m excited to explore this, and see where this series takes us!

So, look forward to Friday’s, because they’re going to be very interesting, as we explore why you should be taking care of yourself; and how!

(I kid you not you’ve just experienced a written version on how I concoct an idea, because I didn’t have an idea about this until I concluded it).

Before I go though, I want to say, today’s post is sponsored by FabFitFun. I’m genuinely excited about this sponsor, as I find it corresponds quite well with today’s post, and this series. FabFitFun is a subscription box that offers quality items in health, beauty and wellness. With products worth well over 200+ dollars, I think you’ll find this box to fit some of your self-care needs. Thankfully, they’ve provided me with a link for you to use, and if you use the code Fall10, then you will get ten dollars off your first box!

LifeStylist at her Finnnnest

Well, hello there.

I just know you’ve been lurking around the corner, wondering. Will she actually make a lifestyle post?

SUCKERS.

But I will be making a schedule.

And a story time.

Like one right now!

I was sitting on my bed after a stressful day of realizing a multitude of things, right down to having a full on freak out answering the door to get my lunch. Watching a documentary, preparing for my shower, I had a defining moment in my life:

I HADN’T PREPARED A LIFE STYLE POST.

Seriously, though, when do I ever.

This led me down a series of thoughts and theories (I used the word because it rhymed, don’t judge me), coming to the sudden realization that I, did in fact need a schedule, and you, my dear readers, needed to be a scheduled. I mean, how else will you know what to bring when you read the blog post. I mean, I’m sorry but the beef jerky just isn’t going to fly for some of these weeks.

I digress.

It occurred to me that I was not a make-up blogger (like I still wish to be), and I was in fact, the type of life style blogger to do life with a different kind of style.

A challenge blogger.

Now, this may confuse you, however, I assure you what I’m doing is completely insane, and makes for one hex of a story.

More specifically, let’s just roll into the upcoming events.

March 20th, 2019- Ten Dollar Outfit Challenge (That’s right, all you ‘let’s make an outfit for under one hundred dollars’ are going to be crying, I’m doing it under ten dollars).

March 27th, 2019-  Trying everything people have suggested to me for cystic acne

April 3rd, 2019- Eating on a dollar for a day

April 10th, 2019- I ate Vegan for a week

April 17th-Misfit Story Award Winners (Wattpad Story Competition)

April 24th- No Posts (Break Week)

So what are your thoughts. I’m working to start planning the next cycle of posts, so do you have any lifestyle posts you’d like to see? What are your thoughts on these posts? I’d love to hear!

Stay Ginchy!

SKIN CARE UPDATE: I LIKE CHOCOLATE

Guys, I’m actually almost keeping up with my schedule. Anyway, if you read my post about my cystic acne, you’ll understand that my skin, it’s been a bit of a pain.

And I’ve tried all sorts of things, but the most major change being-cuting back on dairy.

That’s a journey in it’s self, the first time I did, my face was almost cleared up. So here I go for round two:

Cutting back on dairy, and Bare Minerals Face Care.

Unfortunately, currently all I have is the Serum

So we’ll see how this goes until we get the rest of my face shtuff.

Now, acknowledging that I actually have no idea how to write a skin care post, let’s just give you a skin care update, and end this bad boy.

Right now I haven’t had a major painful break out, most likely because I’ve cut down on stress and dairy, but my acne still isn’t doing wonderful.

That being said, we have hopes for recovery! Tune in next week for a better written post on my skin.

I’m A Make Up Artist Part 2

Okay, and for the third time that I’ve written this post (WordPress is not letting me enter the draft for this post-aurghhh!!!), I proudly introduce the next part to my concerningly large face care collection.

So anywhozzles, today we’re going to be going over Foundation/concealors and brushes.

But not this brush, because this is a hair brush, and I’m talking about these brushes:

Maybe we should talk about the hair brush, because these clearly need to be cleaned.

However, depsite the clear factor that I am killing my face with bacteria, can we talk about how soft these fellas are? Seriously, I have spent a worrisome amount of time getting myself with these. I don’t know what it is about these brushes, but they are soft. To be technical, apparently the top one is suppose to mimick your fingertips, but I just like that it’s soft.

And the bottom one…

Did I mention how soft they are?

Of course, I would be really strange if I just stroked my faces with the brushes all the time, and didn’t apply at least some make up, like my foundations.

More specifically, these foundations:

Also, if you can’t tell from the color, I look beige.

Not tan, not pale (my parents), but beige.

I don’t understand.

Okay, so the point is, though, that the second foundation has been with me since the very begining, in fact, it’s what I used to always wear, just because it brought my skin relief. I would wake up some mornings and my skin would hurt sooo bad, and if you couldn’t tell, it really helped.

The top one was what this beautiful gal got to graduate to this past month. This is big news, because I hate putting on makeup, and genuinely can’t concentrate on putting it on to save my life.

No really, I got distracted and started to watch a YouTube video, do some school work, and play a game.

I don’t know how I got there, but I did.

Or how I got to this point in the post, when we were talking about foundation, but usually, what I follow up with is this:

Not exactly at the same time, but geez the bottom tube is dirty.

My makeup got in my makeup drawer (a drawer in my jewelry box) had some foundation spill, and mess it up.

No matters! The point is that both of them work well, the bottom one is used to reduce redness, and the top one I use when I’m trying to act like I totally didn’t get four hours of sleep because I stayed up late writing.

(All good thing become a problem outside of moderation-said no Hazi ever. People just get really judgemental, and I have really puffy Asian eyes, so, the less puffy-bags, the better).

With those comes the finale to this beautiful trilogy!

My make-up collection will be complete.

*Laughs evily*

Next time, good friends, and remember to live your life like the ginchy story that it is!

I’m a Make-Up Artist, Part One

Guys, I haven’t had more than six hours of sleep every time I drove with my driver’s ed teacher.

But I survived!

Anyways, putting exhaustion and fear of the fact that I’m legally allowed to drive on my own January, let’s jump into something that has nothing to do with my introductory paragraph:

Makeup.

More specifically, what I use for this drop-dead gorgeous face of mine, and how I enhance this beauty.

So recently, as mentioned in a post earlier -talking about my skincare journey (that may or may not have considered taping other peoples faces to my own)- I found a helping hand to my acne problems, and I’m not talking about my grandmother who had a tendency to pat/slap my face.

Or even my other grandmother’s solution, of not using hands on my face at all (which made sense, it just didn’t work).

Actually, it was this Bare Minerals Gold.

Actually its Vegan, and Cruelty-Free, and even though I have no intentions of eating my make-up, it’s good to know that it doesn’t have dairy in it. The good Lord Himself knows that I do not want to be in more awkward situations than the ones I intentionally put myself in.

Anyway, before, I didn’t like to take selfies of myself, and now? I don’t like to take selfies of myself, but when I take them with others, I look gorgeous, I mean, come on, could you say no to this babe if she asked you for some extra cash to buy more books?

Anywhozzles, I’m getting off topic again (surprised?), because this blog post is about the products I use to make me closer to my Audry Hepburn level of class.

So let’s just get this party started (also this is a trilogy series because it takes a lot to make me gorgeous).

So let’s just start off with the things I’m more-or-less required to use daily (I may or may not be a lazy person)

1. Skin Longevity

Just look at that beautiful bottle, and the gorgeous blanket background (Seriously, my mom made me two blankets, both of which I could cocoon myself in four times).

I try to use this stuff three times a day, but sometimes, its a two-times the only type of deal, because as mentioned before, despite what I say about being busy, I’m really just lazy.

It feels so light on my skin and is a part of my routine I don’t dread (those days where I decide to do eye liner…gracious I have an unsteady hand). Adding that alone has helped, immensely with my acne.

2. True Oasis Replenishing Gel Cream

So this has been a part of my routine since I started to use these products last year. I’m supposed to use it twice a day, once in the morning, once at night.

And I could be all science-y, but to be honest, I just know that it made my tired feeling skin, awake (sight the above remark about the previous product).

3. Acne Treatment Gelée cleaner.

Okay, but for real though, this stuff feels weird on the skin, kinda gross. It’s like slim, but not in the DIY galaxy slime way.

That being said, this is one of my favorites, I use it to wash my face (and it smells good).

4. Blemish Remedy

This one is a pain to maneuver in the shower. I probably shouldn’t use it like that, but hey, I’ve never been conventional.

Interestingly enough, this is my all-time favorite product, because it works the most.

So that’s all I’ve got for this skincare post! Let me know down below what you think of Bare Minerals-do you ever use their products? What products do you use? I’m genuinely curious to know.

Thanks for reading!
